Keeping Families Safe and Healthy during the Stay at Home Order

    • With the stay-at-home order in effect across the state and schools closing for the remainder of the year, many people are facing a variety of new challenges that will likely be impacting their health, stress levels, productivity and overall wellbeing.
    • Each person has their own unique situation, but there are a few tips that can help any family stay safe and healthy both mentally and physically:
      • While you hope you and your loved ones will stay healthy, make a plan for how you will manage if someone gets sick.
      • If you have children at home, have a plan for how you will care for them each day now that schools are closed.
      • Set realistic expectations and take things one day at a time. Find ways to cope with stress that will make you, your loved ones and your community stronger: take a walk, watch a movie, play a family game, video chat with friends or family, etc.
    • Click here for more information from the CDC regarding a household checklist, if you have animals, stress and coping, or caring for children.
